How will I be rewarded?We directly reward our Tasters with Amazon or One4all vouchers. The value of these depends on the type and duration of research. Please note that not all surveys offer a direct incentive. Occasionally, respondents are entered into a prize draw with one reward being chosen at random for each completed survey. Typically your incentive will be sent approx. 7 working days after you have completed the research.

How am I selected for research?All our research opportunities are emailed, so keep an eye on your emails! The email will detail what the research involves and include a link to a screening survey. From this we will select participants according to criteria. The selection criteria varies for each piece of research, depending on what the client is looking for. Please note, places on some research opportunities can be limited so make sure to sign up as quickly as possible to avoid the chance of missing out! If you haven’t heard back from us after completing a screening survey, please assume that unfortunately we won’t need your services on that occasion.

What does a survey involve?When surveys are sent out, you will receive a link to take you directly to the survey page. They can include a range of questions depending on the survey focus. Some questions are multiple choice, whereas others require you to type an answer.

How long will a survey take?The length of a survey can vary from 5 - 20 minutes

How long do focus groups take?Focus groups can take between 60 - 90 minutes

Do I have to have my camera on during an online focus group?Yes, we ask that every member of the focus group for the duration of the session. It helps us get a better sense of who we are talking to and conversation tends to flow more naturally!

How do I attend a focus group?Focus groups can take place both online and in-person (either in our Devon based office or at a different venue).

What happens if I turn up late?You are still able to join the focus group if you turn up late. However, The Taste Collective reserve the right to reduce your incentive if you are not present for the entire session.

What is a focus group?A focus group involves a small group of people discussing a given topic. They are moderated by our Taste Collectors.

How does a taste test work?A taste test can happen either in person or samples will be posted to you. You will be given instructions with the samples. Generally, you will be given a questionnaire to fill in after you have tried the sample.

What happens in an interview?Interviews take place either online, over the phone or in person. They can vary in length of time but are usually between 30 minutes – 1 hour. One of our Taste Collectors will ask you questions in order to understand your preferences, attitudes and behaviours towards the product in question.

How do I attend an online community?If you are selected to take part in an online community, we will email you a link where you can access the online community platform.

How long does an online community take?The timescale of an online community can vary. Typically they are open for 5 - 7 days where you are asked to spend around 1 hour a day on the platform.

What is an online community?An online community involves an online bulletin board which allows our Taste Collectors to engage with members on a safe platform. Tasters are prompted with questions and statements as well as interactive heatmaps, polls and whiteboards.
